ligaprofit Two-Factor Authentication - Account Security Guide

Two-factor authentication (2FA) is an optional security feature that adds a second verification step when you log in to your ligaprofit account or perform sensitive actions like withdrawals. Instead of relying on your password alone, 2FA requires you to provide a second code — typically from your phone — before access is granted.

We offer 2FA to all ligaprofit users as a way to protect your account from unauthorized access. Setting it up takes a few minutes and uses either SMS (text message) or an authenticator app like Google Authenticator or Authy. Once enabled, 2FA applies to every login and major account change, making it significantly harder for someone else to access your funds or personal information.

Why we recommend two-factor authentication

Your ligaprofit account holds sensitive information: your personal details, payment methods, account balance, and transaction history. A strong password is the first line of defence, but passwords can be guessed, phished, or leaked in data breaches. 2FA adds a second barrier — even if someone obtains your password, they cannot log in without the second code from your phone.

2FA is especially important if you use ligaprofit to manage significant balances or if you access your account from shared devices (like a family computer or public WiFi). The extra step takes only a few seconds each time you log in, but it dramatically reduces the risk of account compromise.

We do not require 2FA, but we strongly encourage it. Many of our higher-tier players (Gold, Platinum, Diamond) use 2FA as standard practice. If you ever experience suspicious activity on your account — unexpected login attempts, balance changes, or withdrawal requests you did not make — enabling 2FA immediately is one of the first steps we recommend.

2FA is not a guarantee against all security threats, but it is one of the most effective tools available to protect your account. Combined with a strong password and regular account monitoring, it creates a robust defence against unauthorized access.

Setting up 2FA on ligaprofit

To enable 2FA, log in to your ligaprofit account and navigate to your account settings. Look for the "Security" or "Two-Factor Authentication" section. You will see two options: SMS-based 2FA or authenticator app-based 2FA.

SMS-based 2FA: We send a code to your registered phone number via text message each time you log in or perform a sensitive action. You enter that code into ligaprofit to complete the verification. SMS 2FA is simple and does not require any additional apps, but it depends on your phone network being available.

Authenticator app 2FA: You download an app like Google Authenticator, Microsoft Authenticator, or Authy on your phone. During setup, we provide a QR code that you scan with the app. The app then generates a new six-digit code every 30 seconds. You enter the current code into ligaprofit to verify. Authenticator apps work offline and are generally considered more secure than SMS.

We recommend authenticator app 2FA if you have a smartphone, as it is more resistant to SIM-swap attacks (a technique where someone tricks your phone provider into transferring your number to a different phone). However, SMS 2FA is still a significant security improvement over no 2FA at all.

Save your backup codes during setup

When you enable 2FA, we provide a set of backup codes. Store these codes in a safe place (like a password manager or locked drawer). If you lose access to your phone, backup codes let you regain access to your account.

2FA during login and sensitive actions

Once 2FA is enabled, here is what happens each time you log in: you enter your email and password as usual. Instead of being logged in immediately, you are prompted to enter your 2FA code. If you chose SMS, a text message arrives on your phone with a six-digit code. If you chose an authenticator app, you open the app and read the current code. You enter the code into ligaprofit, and if it matches, you are logged in.

2FA also applies to sensitive account actions beyond login. If you request a withdrawal, change your password, update your payment methods, or modify your account email, we may ask for a 2FA code to confirm the action. This prevents someone with access to your account from making unauthorized changes.

The 2FA code is valid for a short window (typically 30 seconds for authenticator apps, or a few minutes for SMS codes). If the code expires before you enter it, you can request a new one. There is no limit to how many codes you can request, so do not worry if you miss a code — just ask for another.

2FA and payment method verification

When you deposit or withdraw funds on ligaprofit, 2FA adds an extra layer of verification. If you request a withdrawal to your DANA, e-wallet, mobile banking, local payment, online payment, e-wallet account, or to a bank account (mobile banking, local payment, online payment, e-wallet), we may ask for a 2FA code before processing the request. This ensures that only you can move money out of your account.

Similarly, if you add a new payment method to your account, 2FA verification may be required. This prevents someone from linking their own bank account or e-wallet to your ligaprofit account and stealing your balance.

The 2FA verification for payment actions works the same way as login verification: you receive an SMS code or open your authenticator app, enter the code, and the action proceeds. This adds a few seconds to the process but provides significant protection.

What to do if you lose access to your phone

If your phone is lost, stolen, or damaged, and you have 2FA enabled, you will not be able to log in to ligaprofit until you regain access to your 2FA method. This is by design — it protects your account even if your phone falls into the wrong hands.

If you lose your phone, use your backup codes to regain access. During login, instead of entering a 2FA code, select the "Use backup code" option and enter one of the codes we provided during 2FA setup. Each backup code can be used once, so use them carefully. After you regain access, you can disable 2FA, set it up again with a new phone, or update your phone number if you are using SMS 2FA.

If you have lost both your phone and your backup codes, contact our support team immediately. We can verify your identity using account details (such as your registered email, phone number, or recent transactions) and help you regain access. This process may take longer than using backup codes, but we will work with you to restore access as quickly as possible.

Disabling or changing your 2FA method

If you want to disable 2FA, you can do so in your account security settings. You will need to enter your current 2FA code to confirm the change. Disabling 2FA removes the second verification step from your login and sensitive actions, so your account will be less secure. We recommend keeping 2FA enabled at all times.

If you want to switch from SMS 2FA to authenticator app 2FA (or vice versa), you can do so in your security settings. The process is similar to initial setup: you disable your current 2FA method, then enable the new one. You will receive a new set of backup codes when you switch methods, so save those in a safe place.

If you change your phone number, update your 2FA settings to reflect your new number. If you are using SMS 2FA, go to your security settings and update your phone number. If you are using an authenticator app, no change is needed — the app works on any phone.

2FA and account security best practices

2FA is a powerful tool, but it works best as part of a broader security strategy. Here are additional steps we recommend: use a strong, unique password that you do not reuse on other websites. Store your password in a password manager so you do not have to write it down. Keep your phone and computer updated with the latest security patches. Be cautious of phishing emails or messages that ask you to log in to ligaprofit — always navigate to ligaprofit directly rather than clicking links in emails.

If you notice suspicious activity on your account — login attempts from unfamiliar locations, balance changes you did not make, or withdrawal requests you did not authorize — contact our support team immediately. We can review your account activity, lock your account if needed, and help you secure your balance.

Our support team is available in English via live chat, email, or phone. We aim to respond to security concerns within a standard timeframe and will guide you through any recovery steps needed. Your account security is our priority, and we take all reports of suspicious activity seriously.

2FA is available in all supported jurisdictions

Our services, including 2FA, are available only where local law permits. Users are responsible for verifying that their access and use of ligaprofit comply with their own jurisdiction's law.
